Appetizers

In Spanish, that's "ENTREMESES" - Literally, "Enter Messy." Some of this stuff is gooey, but don't be afraid to dive right in. After you've finished the food, you can eat your fingers!

Mexican Black Bean Soup

Soup is served after 4:00 p.m. only.
With real sour cream & salsa cruda.

Nachos

Toasted corn tortilla chips topped with melted cheese. (Not to be confused with "MACHO." When a guy's Macho, he's all man. When he's Nacho, he's all topped with melted cheese, which can attract flies & mess up a date.) (We think these are pronounced "NOT SHOWS," but we're Not Sho!)

Super Nachos

Individual little works of art (Carlos' cousin Arturo). Beans, melted cheeses, guacamole & Daisy sour cream.

Chicken Nachos

If you're scared of ordering Super nachos - order these. Tortilla chips with fresh chicken, Daisy sour cream, covered with Jack & cheddar cheese. It tastes as good as it looks - & don't you wish you did?

Crab Nachos

Made from delicious king crab meat, mixed with Daisy sour cream. We tried the queen crab, but found it too sweet.

A blend of melted cheeses, white wine served with warm handmade corn tortillas. Chorizo on request.

Guacamole Dip

Carlos used his swimming pool, sin agua of course, to store 5 tons of avocados he got on special. He'd forgotten about the swimming party planned for that week. However, everyone thought it was a great idea & after Carlos' party, guacamole dipping spread through the West literally overnight.

Tuna Dip

Carlos and Pepe's World Famous dip. Made with secret ingredients from an old family recipe. We still don't know who the family is but we do know they were very very old.

Margarita's Pizza

Fresh salsa cruda, Mexican herbs, spices, cheddar and Jack cheeses.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

The recipe that made Wolfgang Puck famous, pulled BBQ chicken breast, fresh tomato, salsa cruda, cheddar and Jack cheeses, red onion and fresh cilantro.

Pizza Vegetarian

Chopped mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, fresh tomato salsa cruda, cheddar & Jack cheeses.

Homemade Tortillas

Pronounced "HO-MAY-TOHR-TEE-TAHS" - If you haven't tried them freshly homemade, you haven't had tortillas. Served warm with butter. (At night after work, Pepe & his date sit in front of the TV set at home making tortillas*. this is Pepe's idea of a good time. This is why Pepe's a bachelor.) Tortillas, thin unleavened pancakes of ground, dried flour or corn, are still made much the same as they were throughout The America's 2000 years before the Spanish took over & invented Touristas.
*Pepe lives in a mobile home near the restaurant. Carlos lives right here in the kitchen.

Cobb Salad

The recipe for this Brown Derby original (mounds of lettuce, fresh tomatoes, juicy chicken, avocado, bacon & Carlos' own special vinaigrette dressing, mixed with special bleu cheese chunks and lightly tossed) found it's way into Carlos' back pocket, along with 17 napkins & a handful of ashtrays.

Caesar Salad

Fresh romaine lettuce, Parmesan reggiano cheese & jalapeno toast.

Chinese Chicken Salad

Mustards Orilt In Napa Valley, California gave us this recipe. Fresh pasta, chicken breast, crisp bacon, candied nuts & a slightly sweet sesame dressing. Jalapeno cheese toast.

Two Tacos

This dish is named after TU TACO, the royal chef to the emperor Maximilian of Mexico, & the man credited with the invention of heartburn. Max had him drown in a vat of his own hot sauce in 1866. Max's next chef, JUAN ENCHILADA, corrected the problem & today neither tacos nor enchiladas cause heartburn.

Tacos Al Carbon

Named for Al Carbon, who in his heyday was known to kill for a plate of these tacos. Two handmade corn tortillas ("soft tacos") filled with slices of sirloin steak or chicken. Served with cheese, guacamole, lettuce & salsa cruda.

Chimichanga

(Pronounced GIMME-THE-CHANGA!!!) This is a deep-fried beef or chicken burro covered with our own special sauce & garnished with Daisy sour cream & guacamole. NO, YOU CAN'T DANCE TO IT!

Crab Enchiladas

Two tortillas with king crab, Daisy sour cream & salsa cruda. Topped with Cheddar and Jack cheese & a little more real sour cream.

Enchiladas Rancheras

Two tortillas filled with cheese, covered with ranchera sauce & topped with real sour cream.

Huevos Rancheros

(Pronounced WAY-VOES-RAN-CHAIR-OES) - We serve two tortillas filled with two cheeses, plus three eggs "sunny side up," covered with ranchera sauce & chorizo ... Gesundheit!

Flautas

Beef or chicken rolled in flour tortillas, deep fried & topped with guacamole, Daisy sour cream & sauce, (called a "FLAUTA "because it 's supposed to look like a flute - but don't blow through the darn thing or your date will look like a mess!

Chile Colorado

(Pronounced "CHILY COLORADO", which is certainly true, especially in winter.) A mildly-spicy Mexican beef stew. (If you hold your breath and eat two or three portions of this real quick, maybe it'll make you rocky mountain high!)

Carlos' Wild Tostada

Beef or chicken, refried beans & cheese, piled high on a giant flour tortilla topped off with gobs of lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole & Daisy sour cream. (This dish is as rich as Carlos used to be, if all goes well, it'll make him rich again.)

Chile Rellenos

(Pronounced "CHILLY, RAY, EH? ... NO") Our chiles are hand-picked straight off the vine, we could get them from cans, but Pepe's family needs the work. Two fresh poblano chiles, stuffed with cheese, chicken, beef or vegetables, deep fried or baked & covered with a homemade sauce.

Tamales

Hot! But not too hot! Fresh corn masa filled with chunks of sirloin or chicken & covered with chile sauce & cheese. It's hot today, but it'll be chilly tamale. (Perdone me!)

Swiss Enchiladas

Two tortillas filled with either fresh chicken or cheese, & topped with Swiss cheese & homemade tomatillo sauce.

Mud Pie

Wow! Oreo cookies crust, chocolate chip & coffee ice cream, topped with hot fudge, freshly whipped cream & toasted almonds. (There's nothing Mexican about this dessert, except the word for it: FABULOSO!)

Deep Fried Ice Cream

One of the great mysteries of the world of food is "How do you fry ice cream?" Carlos' answer: "Very carefully!"
